Ever since Carney got elected I have noticed something on facebook. Before on local groups it was mostly right wing posts and comments. Now I am seeing a lot more posts and comments from the centre/left and they are not holding back. It's good to see. Anyone else see a change?

It could be just algorithms. I've seeing those posts as well and it could be just Meta picking up on your preferences. It's a bit of an echo chamber on both sides.

i really try to avoid fb as much as possible... its just boomers in the comments. i try to stick to the marketplace side and that's it.

Under Horgan it wasn't a problem - good financial management is neither owned by the left nor right. The federal Liberals created a financial mess in the 60's and 70s' that they fixed in the 90's and '00s which the Cons then proceeded to turn into deficits when Harper took power.
Provincially whether it was Social Credit, NDP or Liberals the debt/deficit has, until the last 3 years, been about the same year after year. No party was particularly worse or better than the other.

NDP certainly shot themselves in the financial dick with a few of their policies.
For example, a good chunk of revenue came from property transfer taxes. Their recent policies surrounding housing and land use had direct negative impacts to real estate and thus lowering that revenue stream.
Whether or not those policies are good or not is a separate argument, but it's like the NDP didn't consider at all what the financial impacts of implementing them would be.
And then look at IMO dumb decisions like the Massey Tunnel replacement. Half the design on the original bridge project was complete and prep works had already started, only to throw all those costs in the garbage for solely political reasons. Any thought that building a tunnel years later would cost less is absolutely laughable, and that's even before the massive post-covid inflation/escalation in labour and materials costs. We'll be lucky if this tunnel doesn't cost twice what the bridge would have cost, and we'll get less lanes to boot!

The lanes were dictated by the two cities involved with New West being unwilling to add more lanes as their street network can't handle the additional traffic. I'm not sure I agree with New West though they have a point on this (for the same reasons Burnaby refuses to connect the bridge/McBride to highway 1).

I think they knew full well the impact but that they were just going to eat it just like they did with the carbon tax so they could win the election and now the bill has to be paid. In a way we got what we voted for (or threatened to vote for).

This has been my case of late as well. In addition to that, I get fed a lot of Conservative posts shown on my feed as well, including some from various Conservative MPs. It feels like FB is rage baiting me half the time when I'm on, and it is super annoying to scroll through.
