I have a 2002 Altima 2.5 as a beater. The qr25de engine is a fucking nightmare. Had the engine rplaced with a rebuilt one last year,fixed the pre cat issue and the butterfly valve screws, now my head gasket is on its way out. :-\

yea these motore are a bit weird. I haven't really had too many issues. I bought it a year ago.
checked at the dealer, recall work had all been done. Just to be on the safe side I replaced header so no pre cat issues at all. Im at 191 000km and had no problems. Only thing is oil pan gasket leak, but it is very minor.

the thing that people hate about the QR is the rod/stroke, dont rev it to 9K and keep they oil changed and fix the header, lock-tite the butterflys and the car should be good
