Objectively speaking.
Clifford clearly should know that has dangerous play all over it.
That said.
I think Tanev should have also saw the potential in the danger of that play and instead of going on his edge and trying to make a turn play, he should just braced himself for the hit.
Tough situations for any defencemen's though. You wuss out on a play and you'll get shit from the coach.
