Tesla opens up orders on the $50,000 USD Model Y for the US Market.
Hopefully this is a sign that the Canadian market will get this model too.
The last time we had a lower priced Model Y, it was $55,000 and RWD

What's the difference with the 4860 battery? Seems like a good deal cuz it's awd? Slightly slower and less range but not much

4680 is LiFePO4, isn't it? And thus it comes with all the benefits (and shortcomings) of the LiFePO4 chemistry over earlier LiNiCoMnO2 chemistry.
I seem to remember though that the single biggest benefit of 4680 is cost (per kWh) over the earlier batteries.

LiFePo battery has lower charge rate and lower peak discharge iirc hence why it's slower. Also it's more sensitive to cold temperatures.
But yes cheaper to make. And has other advantages too.

Ariya is quite expensive if you want to stack on options. Car isn't as big as I thought it would be but sufficient for most families. The touch buttons on the dash looks cool but needs eyes off the road to use them. Interior materials is a step up from normal Nissans. Some may even say it's "Infiniti" like.

The Ariya is great! Its a bit larger than I expected(roughly the size of a Rogue with a much lower roof). So far we only have the FWD models. The AWD models will be arriving later this year.
The infotainment system is completely different from any other vehicle we have had so far.
But the wait time is quite long at the moment approx 2 years..

I really like the new Ariya and got a ride-along when I visited the LA Auto show. They're smaller in person but comparable to a Model Y so it's probably large enough for most shoppers. Seems like a good product and a return to form for Nissan.

While sometimes knockoffs can look good. This is a pretty much opposite example. This looks like a Taycan ordered off Wish.com, had the box mangled during shipping and being exposed to water damage before being thrown on your doorstep.

You guys can see what the revised design looks like? Between the black colour and the camera angle, I can't really get a good sense of what that revised front end really looks like.

It's really hard to say with the refreshed Model 3, the headlights have a slimmer profile in line with the Model S
But the bumper itself looks really plain with the removal of the fog lights
Definitely over all it's less "frog" looking

It looks like Tesla had another price drop of roughly $3000 usd on the Model 3 and Y overnight. I'm not sure if this was in America only but they are usually pretty good about adjusting the price in Canada when they adjust it down south.

Was just looking at the price drops.
The base Model Y is starting to look like a real bargain at $46,990 USD
Just a matter of time until it shows up on our side of the border. Then orders will be flying throughout the door.
