No, you put her out there at low tide and tell her to stand there until the waves are at her feet!

That bathroom pic works surprisingly well, kinda like they snuck off for a moment alone =)

The waste bin looks like its movable though, and it kinda sticks out because its the only light thing in that corner.

Do you need some gels? I have 2 huge sheets of CTO and "window green" that I couldn't possibly use all off

nice shots justin!

I agree about the waste bin though... it kinda sticks out in the shot but overall the atmosphere is excellent.

Justin, I like the creativity in locations for those three pics!

The alleyway picture looks like it could have been set more to the right....the "modern concrete" looks kinda weird against the wooden telephone pole. Oh yeah, and your horizon is crooked on that one too

I like how you used the spotlight in the bathroom picture.

Thanks guys!

The alley way one was a little difficult. Just beyond the concrete there was orange pylons and stuff from construction in the alley. Ultimately I would have preferred to shoot at a longer focal length to narrow down the backdrop to the concrete only. But... sometimes you just have to make do... Horizon does seem a bit off... but when I try to straighten it out the people look like they are going to fall off... probably just needs perspective distortion fixing...

Colin: we waited a few waves and I noticed that every 5 or so waves the tide would go out a fair bit. So we timed it and we hiked up her dress and ran out to the rock. In 10 minutes tho, that rock was toast and under water. So just lucky timing and a daring bride.

Man, Justin, I love how cookie cutter your wedding shots aren't. Your shots are all so unique

Thanks for the compliment!

It's SUPER tough to keep it that way. Constantly have to research and reinvent and learn to see things differently.

Let's just say that the team and I do a lot of self improvement over the off season.

I got tired of photographers wandering around and interupting my creativity because they wanted their usual spots. So I busted out the lights (this is at about 2 in the afternoon) and did something VERY out of the ordinary for a wedding shot.

One advantage to a 13ft light stand and pocket wizards is that you can fill in the face details even in WICKED sunlight...

Nice shots justin. I like the cold look of the 2nd one you just posted. The one further up, with the girls looking back came out good.

I like it Kyle! My only complaint is the out of focus leaf in the middle. Otherwise it would have been well composed and framed. Neat frog tho... where'd you find it?

If you're a professional photographer shooting for an event that you are paid money to do, you are required to have a permit if you are shooting said event on city park land in Vancouver. You generally can get away with it, but if you start bringing out lights, stands and generators you will attract attention from the police. They'll leave you alone if you say you're a student though.
