Do you already know what sizes/specs you want to buy? Most US Companies will only ship to Canada via UPS so after you account for the conversion, taxes, duty, brokerage fees you're not saving enough imo to make it worthwhile. If I'm buying from a site like Hockey Giant I'll have them ship it to TSB at Point Roberts. But with the less than desirable exchange rate at the moment, depending on what gear you're getting it might be a better decision to save your time and buy locally instead.
Hockey Giant also has a Canadian website based out of Toronto... the prices are pretty much the same compared to local prices. You'll save on PST but you'll end up having to pay shipping which offsets the savings in the first place.

i think its only worth it if you buy the things on sale. thats just me though. with the dollar being low i'd only buy online if its on sale and i know my specs. and if im buying a few items. if it's just one thing i'd just buy locally
