Granite Countertops
I'm hoping someone here is knowledgable about granite countertops.
I am living in a one year old condo with granite countertops in the kitchen. I noticed that when water is left on the counter, it gets absorbed into it, and I see the colour of that area changes temporarily. It eventually dries out and looks normal again. I was told that my counter does not have a protective spray which should be applied to it. Does anyone know anything about this protective spray or what I should do to keep my counters in the best condition possible?

i'm just guessing but shouldn't your granite countertops come protected?
for water to get absorbed into your stone...that takes a while, pores are minute.

You have to buy a sealant. And it should be reapplied once every 3 months.
Regardless if you have the sealant on or not, you should wipe spills up immediately as granite is porous; it will eventually stain. Home depot sells the sealant, or any granite fabrication shop. Miracle 511 works well. Give ATT Stoneworks a call 604 299 7301 and say Richard sent ya'

if you bought your condo from the developer, contact customer service. the developer should have put a seal on your countertops

cheap sealant (saw on holmes on homes) that some of the installers used was canola oil, no joke.
but i think they still used some industrial one afterwards.
