you can always plug a mouse and keyboard into a ps3, ive done it before many times.

Once you play through the campaign you get a feel for the game using a controller, as well as getting used to different guns, etc. That's why I always play the campaign first or I'm hopeless on multiplayer.

Now to me I think your problem is the 360 controller. It might just be me, but when I played through Halo 3 on my roomies 360, the thumbsticks seemed to be "all or nothing." I couldn't make minute adjustments to line up a headshot, as I moved the stick it'd sit, sit, sit then FLY over. Drove me nuts, and is another reason why I prefer the PS controller.

hmmm... just for the single player part in MW 1/2 that's possible with PS3 while the aim assist is on. while you zoom in close enough around the target, the red dot will be aim to the head automatically. I usually have 2~3 buttons pressed down at the same time while I am in game too.
Again, I think Mouse/keyboard is still more superior than controller no doubt. But it really is not that bad once you get use to it especially in MW 1/2 on PS3.
I tested out MGS on PS3 and L4D in Xbox 360. I played for 30 minutes on each game and I can't stand them anymore. I got L4D on PC instead.
The game really matters and IW map each control very nicely is all i have to say...

I can never play fps on a console for some reason
other games like racing games I prefer console over pc

i've always been more of a pc fps fan, but since my pc can no longer run any games, i've switched over to the ps3. my aiming's a lot slower with the controller.. i'm almost tempted to buy that wii nunchuk type control with a mouse that's compatible with the ps3.

Keyboard and mouse, was playing mw2 on the ps3 and evn with the aim asist(sp) I kept dieing, like the op said I find it much more diffiult running and shooting at th samtime with a controller

kb/m may generally be considered "better," but there are still those of us that suck horribly with a kb/m and are good with a controller...

keyboard/mouse no question. If they made a keyboard/mouse combo for Xbox that worked as well as keyboard/mouse on PC I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I prefer keyboard and mouse but playing on controllers is fun too. You just gotta get good at it.
If you're playing on console the other players are using a controller as well and if they suck I can just own them  . I think I'm pretty good at fps games on console since I play a lot of them haha.
