No, I came back from a 6month long trip from SE Asia. I wasn't into photography then, but I did take a ton of pictures with my point and shoot. I thought I could get a lot better photos if I actually learned about photography, so I decided to get an SLR and learn. My future travelling I'm going to bring it and take photos with it.
I'd been creeping this thread and got a lot out of it, so I decided to contribute to it.
Here's two snaps I kinda like. One's from a scrapyard from Malaysia and the other is from a Indonesian Rice Patty.

I guess it doesn't hurt to try f/11 or even f/16. And from my experience with Lightroom, you can fix a crooked picture quite easily.
