The mode and time of day you play factor in pretty big to your experience. I find generally playing the various hardcore modes most people use a mic or at least listen to when someone does take charge in a game. Playing very late at night, like right now, or right after school is out is generally a shitty time to play. People don't like waking up family / roommates. And, highschool kids, well, you know, as talented and skilled at these games as they are, strategy never seems to be their strong suit.

I might be one of those "highschool kids", but I call if someone else is calling, If no one else is, I might as well be talking to a wall. Weekend afternoons are an especially shitty time to play because that's when the REAL unskilled high school kids come out. And they're the ones who talk shit but haven't had their balls drop yet.
I can justify working mostly solo on Hardcore: I don't want the enemy getting group kills. While my team is working them from the front, I've got Marathon/Cold Blooded/Ninja Pro, and I'm flaking from behind. I work in teams if the opportunity allows it, but with the kiddies out and not listening and just throwing tantrums, I'll work 100% independently since the only person who HAS Cold Blooded is usually me in that situation.

This is why I switched from team games to free for all. Every time I play capture the flag, it seems like I'm the only person running to get the flag.

If you don't have a group of friends to play with, I find team based games very ... random. Especially if you are playing against an organized team. I either play Mercenary TDM, Hardcore TDM or FFA.

It's not that bad. Eevrytime I fall into a bad random team against well organized team, I am usually the top 2 in the bad team with still positive kill ratio.
If I starting to get negative kill ratio, I will just leave and find a different game.

These days, I can never find a dependable team. I'm usually stuck with the morons who end up with super ultra negative K/D spreads

I've played this game like 4-6 times since I bought the map pack. Wasted 15$ since I only like 1 out of 5 maps. Saw the new map pack and once again it's 3new 2remakes and 1 month exclusive for xbox 360.
