Since this got bumped, I guess I'll post a healed pic of my tattoo from last year. Will be going back again, hopefully SOON. I think I am suffering withdrawal...

That should take under 2 hours with color. Around $300. I would suggest going a little larger.
Skinnypupp, piece looks good! you have any thoughts of sleeving out the arm?? Would look nice with some more japanese imagery and some traditional background.
I'm back in the chair with The Wark for a short sit in Thursday.

I want to get a tattoo on my back , it's going to be a quote about 10 words long, in a simple type font like this:
Can any tattoo artist do this with the same quality? Or for those of you who have tattoo's would you still recommend going to the higher end places?

General advice would be to avoid bargain shopping when getting tattoos. Alot of the people I know went to floating world cause it's cheaper.

Tawd is pretty good.
Donovan is the man there tho. If you want anything black and grey. He does some amazing portrait work as well.

I really want to get some Tebori work as well.
I want to see Horitomo down in San Jose. He was trained by the great Horiyoshi III.
I heard his wait list is like 2-3 years tho!
I just got some color in my sleeve @ Blackwater.
Kamui712 - I wouldnt go to a realy high end artist, but I also wouldnt go to just anyone.
Funhouse tattoo could get you in within a month I expect they are very good
as well as Tattoo Union, Eastside Tattoo Parlour, Fat City tattoo, Or even Jesse at Blackwater could prob get you in on a cancelation.
Starting on my left ribs/chest next. Bodysuit or Bust!

Been through the thread and there's some really nice stuff in here. I'm going to be getting a large tattoo at some point when I save up (something I'm not going to cheap out on) and figure out wtf I want).
Question is, what's the deal if you get cut or get road rash, whatever on your tattoo. I've got a fair amount of scars and tend to scrape myself up from time to time. Just wondering what the general concensus is on this.

Scars over tattoo's wreck the tattoo. Tattooing over some scars is hard as scar tissue tends not to take ink well and can bleed into the surrounding tissue.
Berz out.

If you are looking to get tattoo work over existing scar/s then you should find a really could tattoo artist. A lot of guys may not want to tattoo you. I believe some types of scar tissue can not be tattooed very well.
As far as damaging existing work, It all depends how deep the skin is damaged. I have been cut over tattoo work and had no noticeable issues. But if you are a motorcycle rider who is prone to road rash then it might be a different story lol.
I wouldn't let that stop your decision of getting tattooed tho.
