snowboards!
I just recently started boarding, and I've been using my friends burton custom x. I was wondering if there's any other board comparable but easy on the wallet lol. His board is 156 and I'm only 5'7 what is the correct length for me?

I use a 145 and I'm 5'6. If I remember correctly the top of the board should come to your chin

It depends on your weight as well.. How much do you weigh?

That sounds like a pretty decent size board for your size. Maybe a bit big for a park board but to each his own, it's whatever feels best for you. As for something comparable to custom x check out some of the goodwood boards, however the custom x is pretty pricy so you might have to spend a little more then expected.

Just to let you know, a board doesn't know how tall you are, only how much you weigh and how quickly you flick your weight on the board.
Ex:
I'm 5'6, but I only weigh 125lbs. Lighter than your average white girl.
I ride a 153 super stiff board. It's much too stiff and long for me though.
I should be sitting closer to a 149 or 150.
