If you happen to be on Mac, do what I do... I have SSD for boot, a 500GB 2.5" for temp. big files and a Promise Pegasus R6 for storage.

Fairly certain the % value is how much longer it'll be until it's expected to just be dead.

For the OP; ssds WILL die after they flush out their write cycles. Be sure to buy an SSD with trim or performance Will become rubbish after a few months. Avoid indilinx controllers since they're slow. The most reliable ssds are those by intel and crucial(I have an m4) . Speed wise, those with a sand force controller are generally faster than others but they lack high quality flash which makes it reliable . If you have the money , get a intel 520 series since you get sand force for speed and reliability from intel. Also ; to whoever mentioned Samsung ssds I don't think we can get them in Canada can we?

^ agree, never worry about drive failure. I spent way too much on storage over the past few years vertex + 500gb -> vertex 2 + 1.5T NAS -> Adata S511 + 2T NAS -> Adata SX900 and Vertex 3 max iops + 2T NAS.
