Don't read the book, just drive with someone reliable who can point things out to you.
I was on the highway 2nd day on the road...didn't make the roads too safe but after that i learned a lot...safely.
Then after you think you feel comfortable, read the book.
Not exactly the best method, but worked for me. Lots and lots of driving. I was forced to learn safely.

I can already drive more so I think LOL It's just my hands, i don't do that hand over hand shit it feels weird. Its so stupid my instructor is like half asleep and when he tells me to gas, he leaves his foot on the pedal so when i touch the gas pedal it feels like i floor it then he says don't floor it  2 more lessons then i can finally take my n
