Got myself a 20 piece nuggets to drown my sorrows and to save myself from the dreadful experience at Blue Water Cafe. Nuggets were fresh and the guys even threw in an extra 3 pieces for free and a large fries. Score!

So yeah...I get why some people reply with a mundane post while others chime in and elaborate. But if you went to Homer Street Cafe and gave it a 0/10, you better fucking have a good reason why you gave it a 0.

Not, "i liked the food. i had food coma"

Mundane posts with just a simple numbers tell me more than "the food causes food coma". Now if the food causes explosive diarrhea, that would be a different story and something I should know about

I would choose ihop and de dutch way before Cora's to be honest. I've been there once. They pride themselves heavily on their service, trying to be fancy and healthy for a family breakfast restaurant. At least that was the vibe I was getting. Their items are pricey for what they are. The addition of different fruits on each plate is nice but it's factored in heavily into their menu prices. Cora 4/10
Jam Cafe in Vancouver doesn't hold a grain compared to their Victoria location. The new one here sucks and is expensive too. 5/10

There are tons of quality breakfast spots in Vancouver to pick over the cookie cutter franchise chains like IHOP/Cora/Denny's/De Dutch.
A quick google will show up popular places like Medina, Jethros (made famous on Triple D's) and Twisted Fork, they are alright but not my personal recommendations.

My wife loves brunch, here's a simple list off the top of my head to get you started;
Oakwood - Currently my favourite restaurant for brunch and has been for a while. Every dish was a hit, you can taste the quality and fresh ingredients used.
Red Wagon - Hangover breakfast of champions place. Filling and delicious. Pulled Pork Pancakes ftw.
Marulilu - Small quaint little Japanese style breakfast joint. Super friendly smiling service, food is fast and very good prices for W. Broadway. They serve Canadian breakfast like bennies and such but I tend to get the Japanese dishes which you don't really find elsewhere, like the omelette rice is solid.
Zen - Near Kits beach, simple dishes but good flavours and good zing on the hollandaise sauce.

Thyme and El Camino on Main are very good as well.

IMO De Dutch is also ridiculously expensive for a crepe skin. I haven't been there in ages but isn't it like $17+ for the most basic one now?

Yolk's is good too but ever since they opened their 2nd location on Broadway it seems the quality of food has dipped a little.
TUC Craft has a good brunch but their dinner menu is way better imo.

Don't get the hype with Cafe Zen. Tried it on two different occasions and both were just OK, but not memorable at all. Solid 7, but that's about it.

My favs are Red Wagon, Tuc Craft, Nomad, and Thyme to Indulge. Nomads duck confit Eggs benedict on a potato rosti is probably my favorite brunch dish in town.

Pulled pork pancakes are good but I can only eat one or two bites and I'm done, so I never actually order it... usually my standby is the Crispy Pork Belly.

Pork cutlet was bland and paper thin. I liked the curry sauce and omelette rice though. Definitely wasn't worth the $16.99 they charged.

My friend's rice burger was really small and meh. Tiny rice patty, 2 slices of meat? Really?

Really liked the white chocolate matcha latte and royal tea latte though
