Asus Router: DHCP (manually assign IP to a device)
I used to have a Buffalo DDWRT router, so a normal Asus firmware is driving me nuts now.
Okay, I am trying to assign an IP to my NAS, let's say 192.168.1.110, save it and reboot, router should know my NAS should go to 110 port.
Not sure why the NAS and Extender (not shown in screen cap) show "static" on the device chart and both have 192.168.1.100. They crashes the port and I need to shut down either device to get another running. Why my router assigns 100 port when my DHCP table is set to 110? What did I do wrong? They were fine with my old Buffalo router.

Are you running the latest firmware from Asus?
Are you sure the MAC addresses are correctly assigned to different IPs? From the screenshots, I can't tell.
By the way, generally you want to have static IPs outside the range of DHCP IPs.

- yes, latest firmware
- Mac address are correct and all listed in the drop down menu
- I read about it, but I have no problem doing it with DDWRT, I will try.

Oh, since you have a small DHCP IP range, check the DHCP list to see if all of the IPs are assigned. Consider making the range bigger. I know your lease time is 24 hours, but I rather be on the safe side.

Are you able to assign a static IP on the NAS itself?

you are damn right, totally forgot about this after 5 years. it is fine now, but the wifi extender has no such setting, I guess I will just leave it static
