Grail Watches
Wasn't sure if I should put this in the other watch thread, but I thought it'd be easier to see/learn about some nice pieces if there was a dedicated thread.
I know the term 'grail' is used differently, whether its a watch that is just out of your price range, or one that costs $15M dollars.. so whatever it means to you, what is a grail watch for you and why?
Currently I've been drooling over the GS SBGD001/SBGD201
It's the only Spring Drive with no-date and also has an 8-day PR.
It's made by the Seiko Micro Artist Studio, and goes for roughly $50k+
https://www.grand-seiko.com/global-e...tions/sbgd201j
Platinum case, and 43mm (a bit big..)

I mean, I'd love to have that or something in that range. But I really think I can aim for something like the GS Snowflake or similar as a "grail" watch.
Love the Grand Seikos - so unassuming yet so much more than what people think of Seiko.

Not in any order.
Lange 1 Moonphase (Black Dial) - 38.5mm
Can't quite explain why I like this watch, but I just do. I definitely appreciate the sub 40mm dress watch size (as opposed to most dress watches being 40mm or more nowadays. I'm looking at you GO). Lange just does it right imo.
Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionelle Tourbillon - peripheral rotor automatic
Contradicted myself right away. This is over 40mm dress watch (I think it's 41mm?). Would LOVE LOVE LOVE this watch if it was 38mm or something... not that I can afford it anyway :P
And the rest I'm a bit too lazy to find images of.
FP Journe Chronometre Bleu, FP Journe Resonance (gray dial), and the new SIHH2019 AP Royal Oak Chrono 38mm is growing on me :O (Silver/Blue Panda)

White dial Omega Speedmasters are rare, but learning about how Snoopy ended up in the Speedmaster Professional series takes the cake
This limited edition 300 piece Mitsukoshi Speedmaster is a beaut.
For a time, you could buy the dial and silver hands and just mod any Cal. 861 Speedmaster and have the same watch at a fraction of the price but Omega stopped selling the parts.
To commemorate the 2020 Olympics, Omega released this special edition 2020 piece Japan-only panda dial Speedmaster which is very similar to the Mitsukoshi one. Was in Tokyo last October and held it but they wouldn't sell me the display model since there was a 4 month wait for it
