I'm glad at this point for full time WFH. Even then it's still $400+ a month for gas right now while doing soccer dad duties.

Just a FYI for anyone that fills up at the Shell on D Street, I got double charged. It's likely a one-off mistake because I don't think this has ever happened to me.
I usually do 1 Jerry can transaction and 1 car transaction, for a total of 2. There are 4 transactions for the same day.

I know sometimes locally they do a "preset" amount of 300, then the charge, then they eventually refund you the difference

Yea I know the US thing where sometimes they put a hold on the card, also sometimes the visa is laggy where they have pending transaction Vs posted and it shows double

The weird/suspicious part is that the charges are close, but not exactly the same amount.

Yah... makes me want to check my statement... I usually do Can-Am, but the other day I drove my MR2 Turbo over and filled up at Shell because it's a bit more touchy with its fuel requirements, better safe than sorry I guess...

full tank of gas in the Acura PLUS 4 jerries. Total spent $265CDN after conversion.
(3 x 20L, 1 x 25L)
... Blaine, WA - Exxon Express PREM at about $1.92/L CDN
If i try to drive minimal - this has the potential to last me one entire month so about $65/week. no issues with CDN border coming back after she asked me how many jerry cans.

Can am was reg $1.439 and 92 $1.579 yesterday so like $2 a liter, still cheaper than when premium goes on sale as reg here.  still going broke buying gas though

So in my STi what I’ve been doing is filling the car 65L, then bringing 2 20L cans. Point roberts can-am for top grade. After fees and conversion $2.02 or something a L so almost 50 cents a litre savings.
Blaine is probably cheaper but the convenience of PR is worth it. Edit: it’s been good though. Using ~55L of the cars tank + the 2 Jerry cans gets me just over 800km, or about 11.5L/100km which for a high km STi is fantastic

Someone has to be pretty insecure with themselves to heckle random people standing on the street, especially making such assumptions as "duh because dems is walking deys must be dose lefty environment".
Like shit, the primary reason I walk to work is because it's a bit of exercise and starting up the car and driving it for only 1.5Km is horrible for it in terms of wear and tear.
My wife takes the bus because parking downtown is non-existant and unsafe, and we have 2 very convenient, direct bus routes to choose from.
Plus, it makes me enjoy driving for pleasure on weekends far more.
The environmental reasons for commuting this way rank extremely low on the list of reasons.
