Does anyone know what the tax is on a used car?
We're in the market for a car and I met up with a seller today and he told me the tax is still 12% if I bought his car.
Then I googled it and google says it's 12% tax on used cars?
I thought it was only 12% when you bought a new car? Can you guys confirm.

New tax now unless the car is really old. Call your insurance broker to try getting the tax amount. Tax is no longer based on what you bought it for.

Have people had luck with deterring them with a mailbox with a lock?
A bit inconvenient, but than getting my mail stolen. I catch them on my ring doorbell camera but nothing I can do.

Or buy those explosive sparkler tubes, package it up, leave it at the front door.
Buy cheap GPS trackers, get free broken electronics off CL, put GPS tracker into electronic, wait until the thieves bring it home, give police info.

The other day, this guy came right at 12:30pm. Took my mail and didn't even bother going back out through the front gate. He just took a shortcut to my neighbours by walking through the hedges. Probably hitting every house on the block.
We made a police report already... Slowest process ever. It wasted an hour of our time just being put on hold.
Also most of the thieves that came had their face covered with a mask.

Happened to us last year and afterwards we got a locked box that comes with 3 keys.
Little Asian guy with a mask on came at like 4am in the summer.
Also changed majority of our mail/ bills to online so we barely get mail now, but our tenants regularly do.

Does someone here have experience installing 3M security film on their home windows, or have hired a company to perform this work? My parents boarded up their garage window many years ago when it was broken into, and I would like to open it back up without resorting to window security bars which are an eyesore.
