Okay, in terms of rolling resistance, the crappy General stock tires the car came with offered really good fuel mileage. I would get 6.5KM/100km. On the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3, best I could get was 6.9/100km all highway.

How come you don’t think these all weather tires can survive TO’s winters ? According to the videos I’ve watched they seem to be able to perform adequately in snow and ice vs normal snow tires.
Notice that I did not say cross climate 2s. I said all weather tires….uhhhh yeah

Definitely not CC2s then - they are bad for rolling resistance, will add at least 0.5L/100KM to the fuel consumption.
DWS06+ has good fuel economy thanks to being lighter and less rolling resistance. On my old CSX basically no difference compared to the Uniroyal A/S my parents stuck on there before.

My experience with the DWS06+ wasn't the same. I went from the OEM Bridgestones to DWS and found rolling resistance to be much higher, yes I went from 245-255 and upped 1" in diameter, but I was still surprised how much difference it made. I never measured the fuel economy but I could feel the car slowing down quicker after I let off the throttle.
The OEM tires were actually great if it weren't for that nail. They were decent in the snow, handled decent, comfortable for a runflat. Overall decent all around.

Interesting, maybe the Uniroyal A/S my parents had were just so bad lol. Didn't change the size, it was 205/55R16 for both tires.

are most of these metrics just things we make up in our heads? i read a review where they studied cabin noise with different tires and the variation was between 3-5 decibels for over 20+ different all season tires.
Likewise when it comes to rolling resistance and fuel economy, that 0.5L/100km isnt going to be noticeable.
Buy the one thats on sale, buy the one that has the better warranty, buy the one that has the longer tread life

If I am reading you right -- you went from 245 -> 255, and you upped the wheel diameter by 1". In this case, I would attribute the subjective difference (ie. what you felt from driving) to be more of a tire width increase + wheel diameter/weight increase more than the difference in tire model. Wheel weight differences are quite obvious from a subjective standpoint, and even if the measured weight of a larger diameter wheel is similar to the weight of a smaller diameter wheel, the fact that the weight is located further out with the larger diameter wheel means more torque is required to drive the wheel, and you feel that difference when you drive.
Objectively though, increased wheel weight does not affect acceleration very much -- at least when you are not in a competitive setting.

reminder that if you have a good tire install hookup that quattro is generally the cheapest in Canada and usually runs a coupon.

Sai = 賽 = racing
Lun = 輪 = wheel / tire
so there is a proper meaning behind the original Mando name.
