The Saudi's are not doing this to make a ton of money. They are doing to look better on the world stage. White people like Greg Norman who is the CEO of liv are going to make a killing.

^^ well I mean we could also be shot callers, have good living standards for it's citizens and throw around money, but here we are, with the highest gas prices, no doctors, worrying about spy balloons, and still trying to decide if we should build a new tunnel to Delta.

I'm sure they did, but I do think they care... all these institutions are about maintaining a status quo for decades and generational wealth.
The Saudis just came and shoved a big fat dick into all of it for them and they're trying to manage it as best they can, they never expected someone richer than them to come along and fuck with them. They're in full out saving whatever they can from this and leveraging the only thing they have left -- their name brand and image.

While I agree about the part where the PGA management was trying to salvage whatever they have left at best they can, is the name brand and image really still something they had salvaged?
By being openly hostile towards LIV at first, only to cave now and merge with them, I would have expected most of the general public to think of them as greedy bastard cowards selling out their own name and brand image to dirty oil money. So there ain't much image they can save, and the PGA brand is now tarnished.
But hey, at least they still got a big fat pay cheque cut out to them!
