They have the thing where they lay out piles of meats on rice on leaves across the table and you eat it with your bare hands (gloves provided if you want). That was a great experience.

I don't know. Albertans actually have done pretty well when necessary, at least prior to Covid. The massive floods in Calgary and the fires in Fort Mac are good examples of a pretty strong community ethic. Way better than Vancouver where people are climbing over each other for free fucking road salt.

Their mistake was not going over the top and saying there was only a week or two of water left or something along the lines of that. Can't trust people to do the responsible thing.

Calgary has done really well on cutting back with their water usage due to this water main break. I forgot what the exact units was, but normally it was 6-something L of water used everyday, and they have cut it down to 4-something L since the water main break. People have been going without showers and stuff for at least 3 - 4 days already, and most recently water usage went back up a bit. If it is sort of like a cheat day kind of thing during a diet, can you really blame the Calgarians?
Then again, an additional 3 - 5 weeks of repairs is really gonna hurt.
But that makes me wonder -- is BO gonna be super bad in Calgary between now til the end of July?

My colleagues in Calgary are saying the conspiracy theories are going full tilt already. Best one so far is Justin Trudeau did it as a false flag to he can announce fed money to save Calgary and buy votes for the election.

I’m booked in for Saturday next week at 9am. You can just tell him the fat guy with the ES and the GTI referred you and I’m sure he’ll give you a really good price. Last time for the es he was done in under 2 hours and charged less than 300 bucks. I think it was 220 out the door
