Yes. Totally depends on layout. Depends if you’re DSG or manual. Usually fastest to hit limiter in 2nd, which for most cars is ~100kmh. Dsg can shift fast enough that I’m not sure how fast they can hit. The echo was probably 90ish, I didn’t look at the speedo once
Btw, everyone here needs a cheap <2000lb car. Chinese 180tw tires, light wheels, $280 24 way coilovers and call it a day

There was a group that tried to run B spec races in the States about 20 years ago. I'm not sure if it every caught on as it was a little fringe. Your Echo would be right at home those as it was the beginning of the subcompacts where the Echo, Fit, and Versa were just starting out, and shortly after the Mazda2 and Ford Fiesta joined the market. Now there's only the Micra and Mirage left. I think the Micra might have some good bones but the Mirage seems like a POS

There's no such thing as cheap pos, all the cheap pos costs more than euro rwd pos. Cuz all the delivery drivers buy them as delivery cars, "cheap on gas" cars

You can still find em but it’s difficult. The track community Honda bros have singly handedly ruined the local Fit market. The echo is beloved by grandmas and they’ll get buried in them. So finding a cleaner echo RS is hard. Micra’s suck and the mirage is an utter POS. The Mazda 2 / fiesta are 10 years newer so the price is higher sorta. But patience can get you one

You sadistic freak. Turning up the detailing challenge to hard mode with those 2 piece (or 3?) wheels w/ pierce bolts, and polished chrome finish? You're on another level.

I took the little shit box for a run to horseshoe bay this morning at 5:30am. Met a weirdo man there who insisted the old golf is better. He had like 4 GTIs before but wrote off the mk8 cuz of the poor reviews.
I showed him the car and he’s like wtf. It’s perfectly fine.
says he’s gonna go buy one today. Lawl

What's supposed to be wrong with the Mk8s?

Everyone that has never sat in one says the touch buttons are compeltley unusable.
Then everyone starts parroting the same thing to justify the fact that their Mk7 is in fact, not better.

i find the UI acceptable. its not THAT horrid. Just a few little niggles that could be better like unable to adjust custom damper settings on the fly. Gotta pull over to do that.
Also had a weird software glitch where my blind spot monitor was disabled for some reason. Had to restart the car to get it working again
The only real downside to the mk8 that I don't recall in my mk7 sportwagen is the overall cheapening of materials and build quality. They were able to shave some weight off the mk8 vs the mk7 but the rattles and cheapy plastics is noticeable vs the mk7.
Its almost 2000kms now and there are 3 distinct rattles, one on each of the front door and one in the dash close to the glove box or screen... the dash one doesn't happen all the time, but the door ones are bad in this heat. Also when the body twists, there is some weirdo creaking noise too.
Coming from a Toyota product, I forgot this is pretty norm for other automakers. my 14 year old ES is dead silent inside. This thing rattles like a Playskool kids toy

Do you miss the anxiety of Check Engine Lights, bizarre creaks, and rattles, and the random cold sweats when the dash light pop up?

Yeah the monthly isn’t even that bad for the Alfa. I think it was 1200 a month which is only 200 bucks more than the integra a spec or basically the same as a lousy Corolla GR / CTR
