Obviously discussion of this has been going on for awhile to have the deal publicly move this quick but I'm still a bit puzzled that it's even happening or that it's considered a merger when one side is basically a zombie/dead body.
It seems like this is more a case of needing scale to fund R&D than anything else as there's not much on the Nissan side worth acquiring - I don't see how acquiring Nissan's body on frame business is worth anything so that leaves some EV expertise and that's it.
This feels like an acquisition more than a merger - I'd be surprised that Nissan is selling anything that isn't just a Honda rebadge in 10 years (their budget brand basically)
Paypal is such a fuck of a company I hate using them so much... no surprise I guess given Elon was involved in it originally
PayPal sided with a scammer who left me stranded at the MGM Signature in Vegas with no room. My kids hot lunch program only accepts cash or PayPal so ya, I’m actually going to a bank and putting cash in an envelope to pay for that shit.

Unsurprisingly, Carlos Ghosn is panning the merger LOL~ I don't blame him though. Afterall from his POV, this was a company and a government that tried to lock him up behind bars for some 15 years.
My layman understanding of EV tech is telling me that to succeed in the field, you need to:
- be good at controlling battery cost
- be good at battery management system
- have a good software / firmware development team
- have a more inhouse / integrated supply chain
Do Honda / Nissan even have these expertise?
