I saw the Ioniq 9 and I think it looks fine, totally not because I work for Hyundai, but I actually do like it, not love it, but it doesn't bother me....

So.... The X5 died.
We unplugged the car and it had 80% charge and left the house. We stopped a few km away from home to buy something. We came out to an inoperable car. The lights flashed and the dashboard flashed and the car shook, seemingly trying to start but could not.
Called BMW roadside, the tow truck came and jump started the car. The car started but lit up like a Christmas Tree. So the 12v was dead and the car has TWO of them.
Here's where the 45e is different. It doesn't have an alternator. There's a transformer that downsteps the hybrid battery power to 12v. Theoretically if the car is plugged in regularly, and the hybrid battery has charge it should never run out of 12v unlike Lexus/Toyota Prime.
Something is broken on my car. Likely the 12v is defective. I can't wait until we can shed the traditional 12v systems in these cars.

yeah but the toyta / lexus will never leave you stranded 
as always, the worst part of german cars are their electronics and all fancy doodads. This is that "intangible" aspect of toyota / lexus ownership i was talking about, ive never had to be towed on any of my toyota products.
