Hopefully they keep Garland with EP40. They need someone that can carry the puck in with speed and win the battles along the boards.
As long as they don't go back to DeBrusk-EP40-Boeser.

Yes, I was saying that he needs someone to retrieve pucks because neither Boeser or Debrusk are strong at that. Hence, they just dumped and chased with no results. Initially I was thinking Kane-Petey-Sherwood but Garland has been their best winger so far this season.

I don't have time to watch full games of this tire fire of a team, but yes... those 10 min highlights that I do follow...
Garland's constantly generating offense in every game, multiple times.
He's more deserving of that 11.6m than EP40.

The Petey contract will go down as a big mistake for the team, another legacy of Jim Benning.
Petey is not a $12 million player.

I still have belief he can turn it around. I could be wrong, but I'll keep supporting the guy until I see absolute collapse. We're only a handful of games into the season guys and coming off of a strong win lol. I get it though, prior to last night I legit felt depressed about our team after just two listless losses.

? Benning drafted him, but it was Alvin that gave him the $11.6mil contract.
EP is currently the highest scoring player out of the entire 2017 draft year. He has more points in less games than 1st overall pick Nico Hischier. I'd say only Cale Makar would go 1st overall in a redraft, but at the time he was 4th overall, while EP was 5th. So, drafting wise, I dont think there's anything to blame Benning for.
The only thing i'd fault Alvin/Rutherford for is the full NMC. At the time, with Bo and JT at $8mil, EP had to be higher than that. So we could argue whether he should be only $10mil a year instead or whatever, but it's a small amount that wouldnt change the team.
