5 weeks ago, my girlfriend was being annoying all day (random emotions). Testing my patience bigger than normal.

I went to get groceries in the early evening. After getting what I needed (carrying about 10lbs in each hand), I slipped on some black ice and landed hard on my shoulder. Like REALLY hard.

The pain was unbearable as I stumbled back to the car,, while still holding the groceries with my now injured shoulder.

When I got home, wincing, my girlfriend totally changed and went into 'first responder' mode and took care of me, not just that evening but for the entire 1st week I could not use my left arm at all.

Took a full 3 weeks to recover. No broken bones, just muscle bruising.

But the whole scenario reminded me that in order to see the selflessness in your partner, you'll have to deal with the selfishness too. We're just all human. Just observe which side of the scale is tipping more.

of the ones that do say thank you, they hit you with the quietest thank you, without looking at you, as they're getting up or leaving. Maybe it's awkward for them idk.

It's not so much in the tone you're thinking of. Most of us aren't demanding outright thank yous, it's more about seeing any sign of gratitude for our efforts at all. The amount of entitlement from some girls these days is astounding so something as simple as a thank you goes a long way into building a positive view of a girl you're getting to know.

And to your point, yes there's more than one way for girls to say thank you

There are a lot of them out there who think "yeah, so what?" is the normal attitude to towards the effort guys put into dates and whatnot. So you've got entitlement, men-hating attitudes and zero gratitude. Such a winning combo and some wonder why no guy will stick around for long (or show up at all).

I even saw a clip someone took of a washroom conversation where one girl is telling her friend "plenty of guys are nice, choose someone who's rich instead". This is exactly the type of attitude that makes single guys no longer want to try. Just get rich, be an asshole, get what you want from them and then next. That's the dating world for a lot of people now and it's sad. Anyone who's looking for legit LTR with family plans is going to have a tough time of it in most cases.

I'd say that depends what you're looking for. Plenty of good looking rich dudes with charisma who dgaf about having a family or even a serious relationship. Another notch in the belt. These are the guys who ruin it for genuine guys but they're also the guys girls aim for.
