Iran supposedly doesn't have nuclear warheads yet, they were something like 80% of the way there. What they could do is probably dirty bombs. The risk of that is probably as high as it could be and it's another reason to stay away from the states right now.
With Carney just short of endorsing the attacks, we aren't out of the water but we are nowhere near as high a target.
I read that US casualities might be very high, Trump also somewhat confirmed this. Iran is claiming over a 1,000, some sources claim around 500.
And it's insane to me that a guy who railed against Bush and the Iraq war for the past 22 years decides he wants to join the club of going to war under false pretences.

What Harvey said really. The retaliation would be intense, but if they already see no way out and do it as a last hurrah.
Wife was asking about WW3 last night. I'm fairly confident this isn't going to result in WW3, Iran is a bit of a pariah state in the Middle East and no one will come to their aid. What will result in WW3 is if China decides that now is the time to take Taiwan because USA is occupied in multiple theaters. I personally feel like the time has gone and passed for China to take Taiwan militarily. We will get another decade of saber rattling and for the Pacific states to take a few black eyes in terms of engagements, but I don't think we'll see large scale conflict. I hope I'm not wrong.
emperor xi is hellbent on taking tawain thats for sure, but he axed his top military guy a month ago because his top military guy was probably opposed to a full scale invasion. As good as china's military is, its unproven and untested against such an operation. Plus the human cost will be extremely high while the territory we receive will be a smoking pile of rubble. Plus Trump moving on Venezuela and Iran is a direct play on China since they import much of their oil from those 2 countries...well not for much longer.
Yah it’s quite possible China could step in on Iran if the USA is completely cutting off their oil suppliers (Iran and Venezuela) or Russia could too just because. The possibility of a world war is not completely zero.
I seem to recall that China only imports under 15% of its oil from Iran, although China does gobble up over 90% of Iran's oil exports.
15% is obviously still a significant amount, but it'd hardly seem like it is an amount worth going to war for, esp when it is war against the US.
