They knew he got the knee surgery, but they found that the extent was beyond what was expected. It wasn't a meniscus trim, it was a full repair, which is almost never done on players Crosby's age. He will recover from it, but there's a very high risk of it happening again, or other ligaments tear. Not worth the risk for 2 first round picks.
I have to say; Tom Brady and the Raiders did a great job of poisoning the well in the media after the trade was canceled. The low IQ and redditor types really buy into the notion that one of the best GMs in the league simply panicked and pissed his pants about losing picks, rather than him protecting his team after a failed physical exam. Good for them!
They actually wanted BOTH Crosby and Hendrickson, which would have REALLY sent Ja'Marr

Jaylen Waddle goes to the Broncos in exchange for three draft picks to the Dolphins.
The Dolphins will receive the 30th overall pick in next month’s NFL draft along with picks in the third and fourth rounds. Denver will get Miami’s fourth-rounder along with Waddle.
