I'd also add that I would recommend paying more for a Global version if you want everything Google related to work out of the box without any tinkering. All the Google AI Gemini stuff works on my N5 global version if you are into that.

I wouldn't get the OnePlus 15 - it seems like a watered down version of the OnePlus 13, with a nicer chip, bigger battery (but you don't need it).
I'm not into this AI stuff so i won't care. I didn't realize android auto didn't work.
I was TEMPTED to buy from aliexpress anbd some are used which i also am ok with. I just iddn't know if there woudl be tariffs and duties.
If you buy a OP13, make sure you buy a glass protector for the camera lens too. I have a metal wallet.. and I thought the glass/plastic on it would've been stronger like other flagships - but it's not.

Android Auto does work on CN versions of Vivo and Oppo phones. I would recommend global versions of Chinese brand phones for most people.
I have not yet paid tariffs or duties for phones I've bought overseas which is about 7 phones now. Websites that sell Chinese brand phones can/will declare the packages as a "Gift" if you ask them to. I've had good experiences with the following websites and I highly recommend them:
Trinity Electronics (HK)
Mi4Canada (Ontario)<---local pickup available to you
Any of you super knowledgeable about the rebates available when getting heat pump upgrades? Looking at options for replacing low/mid efficiency gas fed boiler.

I got the full amount getting heat pumps. I went with carrier. I leveraged the canada home greener grant / loan interest for 10 years. I maxed it out.
Home Efficiency Rebate+ cheque
now i'm in ontario but i know BC has somethign similar.
I think the rebates are dead. I just got pushed through in Nov/December and I just got my rebate cheque today. They didn't even give me the full amount.
I went with TOSOT. I've got a great contact who helped me through the whole process, explained everything and made sure the job was being done right. The inspector came by my place and was like wtf i've never seen actual good duct work, etc. Guy was like he never comments but goddamn.

Quick question. Whats the best way of sending funds to an individual in Japan? Is Wise a good way to do this without being gouged by the banks? It’s not a business, just a person who is going to pick up a limited edition item for me and send it via SAL. Any help would be appreciated.

Chuck Norris died on March 19, his family confirmed in a statement, at the age of 86.
The action movie and martial arts legend best known for his work on the likes of Walker, Texas Ranger had been hospitalized with a medical emergency just days after his birthday, and his family have revealed he was "surrounded by" his loved ones when he passed.
In a statement on his official Instagram page, his family said: "It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning.
"While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace.
"To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family."
Norris' family paid tribute to the way he "lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved".
The Delta Force actor is a black belt in Karate, Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Judo.
Norris founded his own discipline, Chun Kuk Do, and he went on to train celebrities in martial arts.
His late friend, actor and martial artist Bruce Lee, cast him as villain Colt in 1972's The Way of the Dragon, and late Hollywood legend Steve McQueen then encouraged Norris to continue acting
He became a six-time undefeated World Professional Middleweight Karate champion. He also founded his own Korean-based American hard style of karate known sometimes as Chun Kuk Do and the United Fighting Arts Federation, which has awarded more than 3,300 Chuck Norris System black belts worldwide. Black Belt magazine ultimately credited Norris in its hall of fame with holding a 10th degree black belt, the highest possible honour.

Wise rates are better than VBCE. Are you sending the money to a friend? I dunno how safe it is compared to say PayPal.
MG1 - I feel like whether or not Wise is a good deal vs "bank gouging", is a way lesser risk than you getting scammed by this "individual" picking up a "limited edition item" for you in Japan lol.
I'm with SSM on this one - maybe consider doing this through Paypal. You're paying more overhead, but at least there's some level of buyer protection built into it?

100% agree with this video. Kids parents are spending like $800 a year just on hockey sticks.
I think it goes beyond sports as well. In special education, for example, both ON and BC (just changed with the actual switch coming this year) switched their system. In the sake of "inclusive", instead of pouring funding on specific things, they want to use that same money for everything.
So, say a kid with autism used to get 6k a year for their program, now it's that much only for those who are diagnosed with "severe" problems. They did it so that they can include kids with all sort of developmental problems instead of just focusing on autism.
The problem? Those with severe autism might never achieve level needed to be part of our regular society and would need special care for life.
But those who are considered "high-functioning" kids, whose autism add difficulty to their learnings, but with proper training could be just like any regular folk need to suffer on their learnings.
Kids born into rich families don't have a problem. Their parents would go private and hire professionals on their own, but for mid to low income families? Their kids, who once had a chance of becoming part of society, would have their chance greatly diminished because "it's only fair so other kids can receive treatment as well".
This is a case where I think policy makers are so detached from what's actually going on and simply made the decision because it sounded good on paper.

Hockey has always been a rich person sport. Now it's beyond crazy.
Beer league and drop in ice rentals are getting pretty expensive as well. It come to a point where I can't justify paying and find something else to play.
