What is that stuff? It can stay there 24/7 or needs to be put on when parked only? Little pests go under my plastic engine cover, so I removed the cover but they still go to the same spot on top of the engine.

It's just 3d printed sheets of spikes that I cut down to size. ABS to withstand the heat. I just leave it there.
