IIRC the last time a temporary ceasefire was established, half way through one of the negotiated phases when hostages and prisoners were released / exchanged, Netanyahu suddenly changed the terms on continuing the ceasefire. Hamas balked at it, and insisted on continuing on with the previously negotiated plan, albeit at a somewhat delayed pace. Netanyahu refused to continue, vowed to start bombing Gaza again if Hamas didn't give in. And when Hamas didn't give in to the altered demands, Netanyahu called on the IDF to resume the attacks in Gaza.
I pretty much expect a similar thing to happen again -- as soon as Hamas returns enough hostages, perhaps all the ones that are still alive? Netanyahu is gonna make up some stupid excuse to pull the ceasefie rug from underneath Hamas. And then they're resume their Gaza flattening operations aka genocide.

I can't imagine Hamas is even fronting much or any of a fight of any sort at this point, they've been decimated.
This "war" is essentially a grown man throwing a child around the room at this juncture, it's cute to call it a ceasefire as if the other side is even waging a battle back.

Keeping people alive is very very hard. Esp when you have impact as a bargaining chip. My uncle was a cop and he says if you want to hold ransom, you better get a guy / girl that's worthy. (oldest / youngest) and better not have some weird asthma or heart issues cause you leverage goes down to shit.
Oh, and you have to feed them well so keeping hostage alive aint' cheap.
