Q: for those of you who ordered a mattress in a box, how did you get rid of your old one. Did you call someone and pay to take it away?
Leaving it in the alley is not one of my consideration .

If you're in Burnaby call the city for pickup - they will pickup large items for free.

Vancouver doesn't, Richmond and Burnaby both offer mattress pickups. In Richmond you can even schedule online.

Can confirm, this was awful lol. I'm a fan of pickles but this one was sour af and just yuck. Had to absolutely drench that sandwich in ketchup and mustard to make it edible.

There was a mattress recycler that opened up on Marine Drive a few years ago near Knight, but it burned down in a fire less than a year in.
So officially, you have to pay to dump it at the dump in Delta, which leads to all the dumped mattresses in alleys, empty lots and construction sites in Vancouver.
