It's not on him, but he's not an elite goaltender. For 5-on-5, it was fine, the best players on the planet are in front defending. But for 3-on-3, you need the net level goaltender to steal the game.

3 on 3 is a game of chance so it feel shitty to lose that way especially as the Canadians controlled play for most of the game and it was only Hellebuyck stellar play that kept the US in it. Our boys should not feel bad about losing.

3 vs 3 just turns it into a different game. They could have overtime rules where instead of shooting a puck into a net, they use a basketball and try to shoot it into a basketball hoop, and it would make about the same amount of sense. It's stupid during regular season NHL too. Just have fucking tie games. Too many fraudulent teams (like the Canucks) got boosted by shitty fake OT and shootout wins as it is. In the playoffs and in the Olympics, go 5v5 until someone scores.
And I said this elsewhere before OT even started, as soon as I found out the rules: Whoever wins, it's a fraudulent win, and a fake gold medal. So whatever. I don't even know why I watched OT, I didn't care as soon as I knew the rule. Guess I was hoping Canada would steal the game after dominating for most of it anyway.

I'm not even as upset as I though I would be. Canada dominated that game, I'm sure the US players know they got away with one even if they won't admit it. Shitty luck not being able to put the puck in the net when they got the chances. I feel like we deserved that game even more than the game against Finland.
