after the second period I just shut the game off, it really does feel like its summer time already. I don't remember the last time the Canucks have been this hard to watch. At least last year they had Hughes.

Iain McIntyre of Sportsnet mentioned that there were some scouts from other teams watching the Canucks vs. Stars last nights. Four scouts.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...lopsided-loss/
-hard to sell a trade with another team when the players are not showing up to play games.
-careless defensive mistakes and no offensive pressure from this team. Fourteen shots in the game haha.
Petey is playing as if he only cares about playing very well with his gaming in his mancave. Truly pathetic effort from EP40.
EP40 could give a masterclass on how to milk the Canucks for a big contract at 92.8 million US and get a no trade clause and then showing up to work each game with no effort.
No goals in fourteen games for EP40. Very little shooting from Petey unless he is killing someone in a first person shooter video game.
DeBrusk and Boeser have been bad too. Marcus Petey looks lost every game with his turnovers.

EP40 finished the game +1 in a 6-1 loss. That would indicate he wasn't the problem last night. Obviously we all expect more from him (he even said so last night post game) but to say he isn't trying at all out there is simply incorrect.

Looking forward to Friday to find out who we offload, then Draft, then Jul 1.
I havent been watching the games, but some of the media were saying other parts of his game are good even though he hasn't been scoring. Also saw his quote saying he's not playing up to his contract (flashback to Luongo)

Petey's shot totals tell me a different story about his amount of effort.
Three shots on net in his past six games. -not skating hard to the net at all in games.
Foote benched EP40 in the last 9 minutes or so in the game against Seattle.
Heck, Petey was demoted to the fourth line in that Seattle game.
On Saturday, Foote told reporters in Seattle: “He’s got to be better, and he knows that, he’s aware of that. We need more from him and he’s got to find it. He knows he’s got to be better for us and we’ll see that next game. (He has) got to play with more zip, like, more pace to his game, more engaged. Good things will happen when he gets his motor going.”

Everyone been saying EP40 needs to be better. It has not been better since he signed that big contract.
That why I think he needs to go. Change of scenery, fresh start will be better for him. Stay here during a rebuild wont help him in anyway. He not a guy that will drive play and help the young kids. Its more of the opposite. People hoping McKenna or Stenberg will help out the highly paid senior to help him get back to prime? Lol. Kinda sad.

He had a brilliant defensive play that other people fucked il after and resulted in a goal. Likewise in Seattle before getting benched he set up Karlsson for what should have been a sure goal. He’s certainly not living up to his end of the bargain but he’s also surrounded by morons too.

Wait, do you mean watching another Western team play on TV? Or Canucks start time?
I thought games always start at 7:00 pm local time.
Be stupid if local games start at our 8:00 pm to appease NHL and those in Central time zones!

^ you mean cap dump for a one year expiring contract for a 1st round draft pick? Please don't take on an albatross contract like Lui Erikkson or an OEL with term. Canucks already have one in #EP40.

The assignment is pretty clear here... sell off pending UFAs and weaponize cap space to take on expiring contracts teams want to get rid of. I'd even accept players with perhaps 1-2 years left on a shit contract because our team isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
If management can't get this done, that's when I'd say they can look for the door themselves.

Tyler Myers to the stars for a 2nd (2027) and 4th (2029) and 50% retained.

Big blow for sure to the team morale. Myers is one of the leaders on the team.
I'm sure that Myers had to have a talk with his wife before deciding whether a trade to Dallas is good for his family. He and his wife have a home in Kelowna during the Canucks offseason.
I think he also mentioned to Sportsnet reporters that one of his sons has cerebal palsy.
This would be a tough decision given the medical history of one of his kids:
A traumatic birth for this kid.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...ight-with-win/
Before his first-born son was even 24 hours old, Tyler Myers was called back to neonatal intensive care in Winnipeg because Tristan Myers was suffering a pulmonary hemorrhage, bleeding in his lungs, and doctors were unsure if the baby would survive.
Tristan was born five weeks early by emergency C-section after Myers’ wife, Michela, feeling something might be wrong, underwent an ultrasound that showed the baby was not moving. On the road in Florida with the Winnipeg Jets, Tyler rushed home as fast as he could.
Tristan had lost 80 per cent of his blood before he was born. It was 12 days before Tyler and Michela could even hold him, and weeks before the baby was well enough to leave hospital and go home.
“He had a traumatic birth,” Myers told us Saturday night. “Basically, it led to him having cerebral palsy and bilateral cochlear implants, which allow him to hear. He had a little bit of a speech delay, but he's thriving, and both his mom and I are just incredibly proud of him.”
