external HDD wtf...
So I recently bought a maxtor 1tb external HDD. I can copy things to it fine np, but when i try to copy something like a movie from the external HDD back to my comp everything gets all messed up.
I either get:
- some of the movie the rest is fragmented and f*kd up
or it says that it can't read the file.
If i turn it off and unplugg it, then plugg it back in I can watch the movie on the external harddrive but i can't copy it back...
This is messed bcs I don't think i can copy my data back from the external hdd successfully after i format my computer

Uh... that IS weird.
First of all, you should confirm whether it's a problem with the external hard drive or with your computer.
Try copying a file from the external hard drive to another computer and see if that works.
