Final Fantasy 13 a flop? (MUST USE SPOILER TAGS)
According to RFD it is. Extremely linear, no shops, no mini-games, no side-quests, no world map. The only thing going for it is kickass graphics/CGs

the BIGGEST beef i have is the fact that they took out the "FF-ness" of the FF series. I mean c'mon, mini-games is the staple of FF. Think of all the mini-games FF7 has. And those games add to the story. World Map is also a big thing. I loved the fact that u can get a airship & go anywhere in the world. FF13 has none of that. And the entire game is merely one big ass dungeon really sucks.

i'm getting it
the fact that the game looks amazing and the game play seems challenging then the past series
a few past final fantasies have been some what linear and there was no problems with it
i say play it first before you start judging

if it's only mediocre doesn't bother me...should still have god of war 2, bad company 2 dante's inferno, heavy rain, bioshock 2 to keep you busy.
i can see why for those that have waited for couple years would be pissed

They should remake ff7 or have a sequel to advent children. That would be awesome
yea, i waited for years for ff13 and I was expecting it to be the ultimate ff game since they have years for development. And now they dumb everything down just to please bill gates is really making my blood boil. I guess bottomline is that it's still business

even so, other game reviews say its above decent. even if famitsu is biased now, they still usually show the way most other reviews will feel towards the game.
anyways, just play the game and figure out for yourself how you like it. best person to review what you will like always comes down to you.

^side by side comparison resulted in PS3 version being better. and i think the audio is uncompressed too. (not a troll)

I might just rent this one to see what the hype's about. I'll be playing it on Xbox if I do though, and I'm so used to playing on the PS since I've finished 7-12.
Also found out a little fun fact: the main character of FF13 is 5'10", making her taller than EVERY male main character from FF 7-12, Cloud by comparison is 5'7". Learned this when I was trying to find info on the game lol.
