Any places needing CAD techs?
Been at my job for 4 years or so now and not really going anywhere. Since its a small company there's basically no room for advancement.
Originally this job was just to get my foot in the door and gain some experience. Now I want to get out there, network, have more responsibilities and actually feel challenged at work again.
Most of my CAD experience is Building envelope related, I have some construction knowledge from working with a couple technologists and engineers paired with courses at BCIT.
I want to broaden my skill set and knowledge and actually advance further with my career.
If you workplace is hiring or you know someone hiring please PM me. I'm open to new things, mechanical, civil etc as long as I get to learn something new

I've totally started looking, I check craigslist daily, I check metrovancouver regularly, city of burnaby, coquitlam, port coquitlam, architectural firms etc
I figured I'd post here and see if anyone's workplace is hiring since it seems in order to land a job in this industry you need some sort of connection

Besides looking there you can try the AIBC website. Other companies you can try looking at are the larger companies like the Vancouver Port Authority, BB/FS (they have their own store planning dept) and possibly some smaller places like furniture design companies. Try looking on Canada.com classifieds as well.
