PSA: Dog attack on SFU trails
A good time for me to start a new thread rather than jacking racerman888 thread about his ordeal. This past Sunday October 1, my gf and I were walking the trails on the east side at the bottom of SFU (Burnaby Mountain). We were on the Trans Canada trail when we came across a husky looking dog. As we walked closer I let my dog go up and they both proceeded to sniff each others bums. Within seconds my dog starts yelping non stop (I thought he was scared as he's a pretty timid one). I was literally standing on top of them and I yell and go to pull the other dog away but he runs up this little embankment and mine runs towards my gf still yelping like crazy as she picks him up he's still going nuts. So I quickly run over to check him over and she notices there's a small bruise that has formed on his inner left hind leg. I quickly say "lets take him to the vet and get it checked out".
I turn around to go talk to the other owners and they literally disappeared!! It was no way more than 20 seconds and they vanished. I was like WTF!! So I run ahead and they were nowhere to be seen. I ended up footing the $320 vet bill and almost a year setback on working his confidence up. I can't believe how irresponsible some people are. So anyone in that area or frequent those trails with your dogs be on the lookout please!!
Details
Overweight Caucasian Couple (both were probably 230-250lbs)
Both were roughly 5'8-5'10
Middle aged 45-55 yrs old
Majority white (possibly some gray as well) Husky looking dog (35-40 lbs)
They also had some small yappy dog possibly a Chihuahua(darker color black or brown)
Leash for the bigger dog may have been red.

Thanks! He's doing much better. Luckily it barely broke skin and there was no blood. His inner hind leg was all bruised up about the size of a infants fist (big considering he's only 20 lbs) Something this small was quite shocking so I can't imagine what owners go through if there pet was all bloodied.
But yeah I can't believe how fast they high tailed outta there!!
