Dog food recommendation
Hey RS,
Looking for some dog food recommendation for my pup.
My pup is currently 52 lbs at 6.5 months old and she is a Pitbull/staffie type mix of unknown lineage. Her parents are 70-90 pounds full grown, judging by her currently weight trajectory, she will likely end up the same. Not the highest energy pup either but I suspect that may have a lot to do with the food as well.
We are currently feeding her Performatrin Ultra Chicken and Rice puppy formula I am looking to switch it up with something that is (hopefully) better and something that I can feed less. She need to eat 4 massive cup a day right now, it costly, leaves her bloated and I'm not sure really if this is actually good for her. My understanding is kibble contains a lot of padding material and the lower quality kibble generally require you to feed more to compensate.
Dog food seems to be a hotly debate topic online and everywhere I search there are alot of brand advocates and people that seems to have fell into a marketing hole and can't climb out. With the recent concern with grain-free causing DCM. I'm a little hesitate to go with the boutique brand that are strictly grain-free. Veterinary also always recommend the same brand that I'm pretty sure they receive kick backs on.
What do you guys feed your dog? I would like to stick to kibble for the convenience but if there is a raw option that is still convenient (easy to feed easy to store, kind of like kibble)
Price is always a concern, my dog is not a canine athletes she does not need the best of the best. But I would still like to feed her something better than what she is on right now.
Appreciate any recommendation, if you have the same type of breed that would really help as well.
Thanks!

My dog is a puker from her extremely sensitive stomach. Vet didn't specifically recommend this brand but he told me to look for one that caters to the needs. Heard multiple good reviews from Tysol, PetSmart and talking to randoms at the dog park.
She gets a scoop of this with a large spoonful of yogurt and frozen blueberries in the morning and at night she'll get a scoop mixed with some wet food that's also for sensitive stomachs.
Seems to have worked well so far.

I'm sure it applies to dogs too, but we started feeding our cat freeze dried raw food. If you want less volume but without the hassle an expense of raw meat, this might be a good way to go. Cats can go pure meat, but I think dogs need some carbs, so see if their product adds it, or you'll have to add it yourself. We use Stella & Chewy but there are others out there. They also have a combo product with kibble coated with freeze dried.

We do freeze dried food for our dogs, not raw though. Honest kitchen is the brand.
Comes in a powder you mix with water and it turns I to a slurry. Dogs love it.
