Just returned from 2 weeks in Portugal (Porto, Evora, Lagos, Lisbon), here are my takes:
Highway infrastructure is amazing, but expensive. Tons of tolls, some of which were like €15. Going from Porto to Lagos probably cost me at least $50 in tolls one-way.
Gas is expensive, probably €80 to fill-up our Fiat 600 rental.
Drivers are pretty chill and super aware of which lane to take, and also allow you to pass or merge easily. On a single lane road, faster cars are patient to wait for a safe opening to pass slower cars. No tailgating, no aggressive weaving. None of the aggro bullshit here like accelerating when you are trying to make a pass or not letting you into a lane.
You could have a 3 lane highway, with the left lane going 160 while the right is going 80, and everyone just coexists.
Roundabouts are great.
Food is fantastic and unique to the country. It's not very rich or heavy either like you find in France or in the UK. Pretty clean and comforting. A lot of simple clean soups. A lot of the flavours are surprisingly reminiscent of cantonese home cooking.
Prices are not outrageous, but not cheap. For day to day basic meals, I'd say its about the same as Vancouver. But finding really fantastic well executed food is easier to find (maybe just coz I did a ton of research), but it's not like outrageously priced either and is probably cheaper and better than the "michelin" places in Vancouver. Definitely cheaper than London as a destination.
Porto and Evora were my favourites. The castles in/around Evora in the middle of the country are rad.

So if 50cc on a gasoline engine is the threshold, how are they going to determine what the power level of an EV motorcycle that will require a full motorcycle license? By a certain kW engine?

Pretty much. 1.5 kW.
From ICBC:
Most mopeds and street-legal scooters, if under a certain size, are classified as limited-speed motorcycles (LSMs). If they exceed or do not comply with the definition as listed below, you will likely require a motorcycle licence to operate them.
Limited-speed motorcycle definition
Has a motor equipped with a piston displacement of not more than 50 cc, or a power source that produces a maximum of 1.5 kW
Does not require clutching or shifting after the drive system is engaged
Has a maximum speed on level ground of 70 km/h
Has a maximum weight of 95 kilograms, excluding fuel and batteries
Must have wheels with a diameter of 254 mm or more

Yea I got some canned seafood. Maybe I didn't try the really fancy ones but the ones I did try were aright. They are better than the stuff we get but still like not mindblowing.
Brought back some as gifts and souvenirs.

I wonder if they've made an security updates. I remember reading an article where some guys (students?) hacked the software and turned these glasses into a surveillance tool. Using facial recognition they created a database to start identifying people in public.
I could see myself using them to record things while on vacation/activities but it isn't particularly necessary. Just something nice to have if the price is reasonable.

They'd be handy for snapping photos or short videos when you're working on something and you either need both hands or your hands are messy. A lot of times I'd like reference photos when I'm working on cars but my hands are covered in oil/coolant/whatever.

with meta ya it's integrated in to social media, i hear people that travel like to use it to post stuff.
personally i only use it as a bt headset without needing to carry around earbuds to listen to music or take calls. but the battery isn't that great so i find i carry my case (which is bigger than my earbud case lol) so i either don't carry the case and accept the battery can drain or only take it out when i know i only want it for a couple of hours.
it's also like having google home with you on the go if you ask it questions.
there is OTA updates, i think they added generative AI, but since i don't use social media, i think it's limited/useless - i haven't really explored it's full capabilities.
i think the future model with pop-up display and wrist band would be the big leap, but who knows, you may have people end up walking in to walls or more car accidents b/c they focus on pop-up bubbles and not what's in front of them.

Had them for about a year.
They get the most use when traveling with friends or to countries where you don't wanna pull out your phone.
AI feature is useless, uses terrible models.

I'll do a Japan comparison on the driving portion for the hell of it. I did a week in Tokyo and a week in Osaka. The below drives are for Tokyo.

$50 in tolls one way is crazy cause we drove all over the place in Tokyo (north and south on separate days) and the ETCs (tolls) are as follows
Day 1 ETC: CAD $34.10 for S2000 Type S, CAD $28.36 for S660 Modulo X. These two cars were always paired together so I guess size is the only difference.
Day 2 ETC: CAD $49.64 for A80 Supra, CAD $49.78 for GRMN Yaris.

All of the above is roughly the same in Japan. But there was a lot more fast lane hoggers than expected but unexpectedly from those in luxury cars.
Food of course is dirt cheap in Japan and shockingly I don't have a seafood allergy in Japan LMAO.
And yeah museums, castles, shrines and shit. All dirt cheap to go to, relatively. The Daruma shrine in Osaka was dope af. The park surrounding Osaka Castle is cooler than the actual castle (live music and some real life/vibes to it). Cup Noodle and Snoopy Museum were both cool af.

I've been using it for a year.
There are 2 things to keep in mind.
1) the fit is VERY limited. You can't be too big of a head, you can't fit into a smaller size. There is no nose piece. Please make sure you size properly. You can't stretch or bend.
2) Battery is great. I use it to take notes and just snap a pic of a slide and I listen to MP3 a lot. A charge is solid and the case provides more time.
All in all, do fit it well before u consider. FB marketplace has a few good deal around.

I got the extra-wide, low bridge from the store ... they seem to have a lot of fit options.
