Well considering we just had my 83 year old uncle and aunt's funerals at the Gibsons legion a few weeks ago, I'd say anything else but that.

I low key love going to the legion. The one in Port Moody has decent food for the price, cheap beers, and just chill vibes nobody trying too hard to be cool or anything coz it's impossible to be cool if you're dining at the legion.

It’s hilarious cause it’s in a restaurant that follows my most angering trend when naming something. “Just remove all the vowels it’s cool!”
The reason I don’t like “speakeasy” vibes is because I’m on a very low horse lol. I don’t like things that convey you are in some special club because you get to go there. The concept itself is the definition of being on a high horse. It looks nice and I’m sure it’s probably good, but if I’m going out to pay $18 for a drink it’s gonna be some shitty can of beer at a show at the commodore.
Otherwise I’ll see you guys at the legion.

i remember in my 20s seeing $12 cocktails for the first time at the diamond in gastown when it was new... blew my mind.
a few days ago i went to the met in new west, a dive bar.. cocktails $16-17 at a dive bar.. at least it was fun.. people were going all out with the karaoke there.

That's why I say going down to Seattle/Portland isn't even worth it anymore. Most spots are charging $18-$25 per cocktail, but in USD. Early 2020s it was around $12-$14.
We love going to boogie cocktail bars, I'm really into mixology at home and have a huge collection of crap.
Nothing better than getting some good syrups and spirits and making a complex drink -- Penicillins, Mai Tais, you name it.
Went to Lala Jazz bar a few weeks back @ June, check the prices. Saw so many people on dates, no wonder buddies complain about the cost of taking a girl out

Coke is still the same price but it’s more of a shrinkflation scenario. Same price for a gram but less coke and more baby laxative and potentially some fentanyl.
