McDavid: 'Can we please have just an above avg goalie?' It's shocking that they had McDavid & Draisatl for so long and Oilers never had a reliable goalie. With this cast, a reliable one should do, doesn't have to be Vezina level. But even with Skinner, he would let in a goal in the most inopportune time, when they are tied late in the game or ahead late in the game. Players playing scared all the time that goalie will let in one ... and he almost always does.

I'd have to disagree ... SOG is only one stat, gotta see the flow of the game.
Last night, Oilers had a 2-0 lead early. Then in the third, a 3-2 lead ... and lost 4-3.
Prev game (game 3), Chasing all game, down 0-2 in the first. Oilers went up 3-2 in the 2nd. Can't lock down a lead, the dam breaks and they are down 5-3 and lose 7-4 (one EN).
Not sure how you don't think they need a more solid goaltender. Same with Skinner ... stats wise, doesn't look bad but it's the inopportune times for the goals. It's obvious to me that the team doesn't have confidence playing in front of their goalie.

The Oilers inability to protect leads also has to do with their penalty kill.
The Ducks are cooking Edmonton on the powerplay. This young team is lethal on the man advantage.
When reporters asked McDavid after the game what areas of their game that they need to improve in game five, McDavid mentioned the PK.
Here are the stats for the Ducks power play so far against Edmonton from nhl.com:
Power Play Percentage: 50.0% (6-for-12)
